Broomball @ the Ice Barn
BRAND NEW! iBeach31 is teamming up with the NEW Ice Barn and running Adult (Coed) Broomball Leagues @ the Ice Barn.
What is Broomball? A fun friendly competitive game on the ice wearing tennis shoes. Each player has a broomstick (provided by Ice Barn), a helmet, and a ball. The goal: get the ball in the goal using your broomstick with your teammates! Don't miss out on more fun than you've had in a long time.

NEW! Adult Winter 2021 Broomball League @ The Ice Barn - Wednesdays 8:45pm-10:15pm

Brand NEW Adult Broomball league @ the new Ice Barn in Westfield. The weather is getting colder and it's time to gather some friends to have fun on the ice with a classic, fun, competitive game on the ice.
-5 regular season games
-1 week of Playoffs
-play 1 time per week
-Every team makes playoffs (single elim)
-6v6 (recommend 8-10 players per team for subs)
-20 minute halves (5 minute half time)
Ice Barn provides the brooms. Please bring your own helmet THIS IS REQUIRED!
$500 per team. Score recorded each week and online standings.
Game times: Wednesdays: 8:45 or 9:30pm

BROOMBALL RULES
Rules!!
- Games are played with 6 players (5 + goalie). Each team must have 2 min. females on the ice at all times or the game is defaulted. The goalie is included in the minimum requirement of either gender.
- Helmets are mandatory. Goalies must have full face masks, but may not wear goalie pads. Broomball shoes or clean-soled running shoes must be worn. There is no body contact.
- No sliding. All dangerous slides and sliding to block a shot will be subject to being ejected.
- On face-offs, the stick must make contact with the ball before it may be touched with the feet.
- Sticks should be kept below shoulder height. Sticks may be above shoulder height to shoot, only if there is no one at risk of being hit.
- A high stick near another player (at the official’s discretion) or contacting another player, is considered dangerous play.
- Kicking the ball is only allowed to direct the ball from the kicker’s foot to their own broom.
- Players can knock the ball down in the air with their hand, but cannot carry the ball.
- Only one defensive player is allowed in the crease, the goalie or a designated goalie [if the goalie is out of position]. If the ball goes through the crease, a player may follow it, but may not score with a foot in the crease.
- The blue line is the offside line. Icing will be called as soon as the ball crosses the end line. 2 line passes are allowed.
- Goalies may not cover the ball outside the crease (penalty). Goalies may not hand pass the ball forward, but may pass it back to the corners.
- Players may not throw their stick (penalty).
- Any player who intentionally damages equipment will be billed for the cost of replacing it. In addition, the player may be suspended or removed from the league.
